Held at the author's writing and fishing camp in the fishing village of Sointula, just north of Vancouver Island and at the edge of the Great Bear Rainforest.
We can provide a list of local accommodation at all ranges, from beach camping to luxury fishing lodges and assist with transport options from Port Hardy if you are flying into the "north island."
When retreats are not in session, the 3-bedroom, 2 bath retreat home, with a fully stocked library, is available throughout the year for short-term furnished rentals for writers or other artists looking for one-week or longer self-guided retreats and a quiet writing location. Costs: $500 p/w Oct-May; $1000 p/w Jun-Sept, + taxes.

TRAVEL CAMP
Break into short-form travel writing for publication. Camp goals: leave with a feature article, ready to pitch or place, and learn while exploring. Mornings are dedicated to adventure, anything from whale watching, sea kayaking, or learning to surf, depending on the season. Afternoons we write, with a combination of instruction, coaching, and drafting. Cost (3 days) $550, includes activities, instruction, and most meals. In 2023, retreats are offered in June and throughout most of July. Email for details.
BOOK DEAL CAMP
5-day intensive for writers with a nonfiction book idea who are serious about completing a book proposal, getting an agent, or signing a book contract. Come with an idea, and our goal is for you to leave with a book proposal. The business of writing and publishing is a focus. Retreat runs from 7.30 AM - 5.30 PM, with 8 hours of daily scheduled writing or coaching. Evening social activities. Cost ($950 CAD + tax) includes instruction and most meals.
